International Criminal Court Receives Additional Complaints About Israel

The International Criminal Court (ICC) claims that it is investigating crimes by both parties in Gaza but has been reluctant to stand up to Israel. The additional complaints may or may not compel it to take action.

Op-Ed

The ICC was relatively quick to issue an arrest warrant for Russia's ruler, Vladimir Putin, when it became apparent that Russia was committing war crimes in Ukraine, but it did not issue one for Ukraine's ruler, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, even though his war crimes were far worse and had been going on since he first took office and continued Ukraine's policy of attacking ethnic Russian civilians in the Donbass region in order to provoke Russia into retaliation.

Now, the corrupt ICC has been heavily criticizing the actions of Hamas while downplaying the far worse actions of Israel and continues to fail to act after receiving formal complaints about Israel's abuses since not long after it was founded in 2002. It was not until 2021 that the ICC finally opened an investigation into the crimes being committed against and by Palestinians. For more than 20 years the ICC has failed to hold Israel accountable and it is that failure that has given Palestinians no option but to push back against their abusers in whatever way they can.

The latest complaints were filed by the human rights organizations Al-Haq, Al Mezan, and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights. They called for “urgent attention to the continuous barrage of Israeli airstrikes on densely populated civilian areas within the Gaza Strip.”

Since October 7, Israel has killed more than 10,500 Palestinians (not including those buried in rubble) — nearly half of them children. Israel has specifically targeted residential buildings, hospitals, schools, refugee camps and other civilian sites. It has blocked the delivery of nearly all water, food, energy and fuel. More than 1.5 million people have been displaced from their homes. However, this is just the latest round of atrocities in a long list of atrocities by Zionists for the past 100 years.

Israel's actions are illegal and the ICC claims that it has jurisdiction, even though Israel is not a member and doesn't recognize the authority of the court.

In a speech on October 30, International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Ahmad Khan QC made a speech in which he made his bias against Palestinians and for Israel clear. What is not clear is why he is afraid to criticize Israel and if the Mossad has bribed, blackmailed or threatened him as they have countless others in positions of authority. Regardless of the reason for Khan's inaction, the blood of innocents is on his hands. Had he held Israel accountable years ago, Palestinians might have had some glimmer of hope for justice and the current war might not have occurred.

Trillions demands that the ICC immediately issue arrest warrants for Israel’s President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for crimes against humanity.
